About DMU

Organisational Structure

The DMU falls within the Economics Division of the Ministry of Finance & Planning. The Unit is headed by a Senior Director and comprises four sections each managed by a Sectional Head. The four sections are:

  • Domestic Debt with responsibility for domestic debt raising and loan administration activities as well as debt strategy and analysis functions.
  • External Debt with responsibility for external debt raising and loan administration activities as well as debt strategy and analysis functions
  • Electronic Data Processing (EDP) with responsibility for administering and maintaining all electronic systems used by the DMU.
  • Securities Management with responsibility for all activities related to the registrar and payments functions for government securities.

The DMU is responsible for providing statistical information on the government debt and securities through the following reports now available on this website:

  • General Report:  Total Public Debt and Indicators, produced annually

  • Domestic Debt: Total Domestic Debt Outstanding by Loan Type, produced monthly;  Treasury Bill Operations, produced monthly; Domestic Debt Market – New Issues, produced monthly

  • External Debt: External Medium & Long-Term Public Debt and Indicators, produced annually;  External Debt Outstanding by Creditor Category, produced monthly

Public issues of securities:

  • GOJ Prospectuses related to Local Registered Stocks, Investment Debentures, US$ linked Bonds and other issues.
  • Current information on interest rates on all outstanding issues of Local Registered Stocks
  • Information on the Auction of Local Registered Stocks
